Moonbeam Café
About This Spot
Stepping into Moonbeam Café feels like finding a quiet spot where the day slows just enough for you to settle in. Nestled along Allegheny River Boulevard in Oakmont, this café offers a gentle embrace of warmth and calm, a place where thoughtful moments unfold naturally over carefully crafted drinks. The soft hum of conversation mingles with the clink of ceramic mugs, framed by the gentle light filtering through large windows that reveal a welcoming streetscape beyond.
The atmosphere here is quietly nurturing—welcoming but never rushed—with an inviting array of seating options that encourage both introspection and connection. Whether you're tucked away with a book nestled among leafy plants or sharing a calm conversation in one of the thoughtfully arranged corners, Moonbeam Café feels a bit like a second living room, filled with light, low-key art, and an undercurrent of genuine care. The presence of plants, some offered for sale, adds a subtle freshness to the air that matches the thoughtful touch found in every corner of the space.
At the heart of the experience is the coffee, brewed with an easy familiarity that speaks to both craft and comfort. The baristas seem to understand that a drink is more than just its ingredients—it’s a moment tailored to whoever walks through the door. From the slow, rich drip coffee to the richly layered iced caramel latte or the delicate lavender-infused creations, each cup feels considered, offering subtle surprises like house-made syrups sweetened with coconut sugar. The menu’s gentle mix of classic and playful options—like matcha and chai varietals or a surprising sweet potato pie coffee—invites curiosity without overwhelming, encouraging a slow exploration of flavors as relaxed as the pace of the place.
Moonbeam Café carries the quiet confidence of a neighborhood spot that’s been lovingly renewed, reflecting a fresh energy while holding onto a sense of timelessness. It's exactly the kind of place where you might come for a morning boost, linger into the afternoon, and find community in unexpected moments, sharing stories over thoughtfully brewed cups that feel like a small but meaningful ritual.

This is becoming one of my favorite coffee shops! First, the coffee (drip) is great. Made at the perfect strength. Second, the baristas are all accommodating to your requests as much as possible, and very friendly. Third, the aesthetics are lovely - various seating choices and conversation areas, plants, books, art (not to mention the view out the front window!!) We did not buy food, but they pastries and a selection of bagels and waffles on the weekends. All the things I look for in a good coffee shop!

What a lovely little shop. Nice place for a delicious latte (never had one so good oddly) and cozy for some work and 1:1 meetings. Staff very friendly and I’ll for sure be back!

One of my favorite cafes in Allegheny county! This business came under new ownership recently, and now looks a tad bit different on the inside. There are far more plants now, a lot of them for sale, and the seating has more options. I’ve had the luxury of coming here twice since this (photos from both of those trips) and cannot recommend enough the matcha lattes! They make their lavender syrup in house and it taste just like you took a bite out of a lavender bush (but in a GOOD way) and the earthy fresh notes of the matcha entangle with that perfectly. Their rotating toast selection also provides a great opportunity to try something new! My last visit I got their avocado toast with micro greens and it was quite refreshing and zesty! The staff are super nice, the lady who was working the cafe even remembered my name which I felt was like, super nice and sweet. The overall vibe of the place is calm and relaxing, a great place to grab a drink and chat with friends on a stormy afternoon! Highly recommend this gem!⭐

We were in town and decided to stop in for a hot drink on a cold day. The atmosphere was wonderful and the unique flavor combos was a nice touch. I had the sweet potato pie hot coffee and it wasn't too sweet.

Moonbeam is my favorite coffee shop in the area. The staff is always warm and welcoming and the coffee is always delicious (never tried any of the food, but I'm sure it is good too). I always get an oak milk latte with their homemade lavender syrup and it never disappoints! I especially love that the syrup is made in-house with coconut sugar. I love the decor and seating options as well; it's a very inviting and comfortable environment. There's just so much to love about Moonbeam!

In early October, I met a dear friend for coffee to catch up. As I don’t drink coffee or hot tea, the barista offered to have me try a “refresher” drink, which I ordered after sampling. It was so delicious that I am still thinking about it months later. It was fruity and oh so sweet but I have no idea what it was. Since then I have tried two large franchise refreshers and neither are anywhere as delicious as yours. (It did not have lemonade, and I don’t think it was a tea base either. I believe it was a strawberry flavor, maybe?). I wished I lived closer so I could frequently visit and support you, but I definitely will stop if ever passing through Oakmont!

So cute! I went on a Thursday around 11:00, I was the only one in there. The girl working was super nice and welcoming! I got an iced matcha latte with sugar free vanilla and whole milk. It was so delicious and well made. Perfect ratio of matcha and milk. I also got a chocolate stroopwaffle. It was the perfect little treat. The prices were good I think I paid about $6 for both. I could see this place getting very busy and packed during busy times of the day. I am glad I went at the time I did.

It was my first time here, so I wasn’t sure what to order. I asked the barista to surprise me, and they absolutely came through! I was a little worried I might’ve stressed them out with the request, but I was completely wrong the baristas were so kind, patient, and genuinely sweet. When she handed me my drink, she told me it was a sugar cookie iced coffee, and wow… the presentation was beautiful and the taste was even better. The whole place has such a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay and unwind. I definitely recommend this spot !
